Dr. Samuel J.K. Abraham, Director of Nichi-In Centre for Regenerative Medicine (NCRM) and also Faculty, Department of Cardiac Surgery, Yamanashi University, Japan has conferred a honorary visiting Professorship by the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. University

The Vice Chancellor said that his visit to the collaborating Institute of NCRM, Japan was very impressive and therefore this conferment will help the University have association with the Japanese Institutes through Dr. Abraham and NCRM to promote research activity in the field of Regenerative Medicine especially Tissue Engineering, Immunotherapy, Genetics and Immunotherapy for Cancer. The Department of Transfusion Medicine, Immunotherapy and Genetics will lead the initiatives.

Dr. C.J. Vertivel, Director, Deepam Hospital introduced the Visiting Professor to the audience. Dr Abraham made a special mention about the recent visit of the Vice Chancellor to the collaborating institutes of NCRM in Japan, through initiatives taken by Dr A.Pandian, Managing Director, Deepam Hospitals and Dr CJ Vetrievel, Director, Deepam Hospitals.
