A State-level quiz competition on stem cells is to be organised by Nichi-In Centre for Regenerative Medicine (NCRM), an Indo-Japanese joint venture institute engaged in training, research and clinical application in cell therapeutics, as part of its second anniversary celebrations.

According to a press release, the competition is to be held on 27 October in Chennai. It is aimed at motivating students of biotech, biology and medicine. Besides, it would enable young scientists to develop skills and forge collaborations and exchanges between basic scientists and medical personnel.

Both undergraduate and postgraduates of medical, biology and biotechnology courses enrolled in government and private institutes within Tamilnadu and Puducherry are eligible to participate.

The winning team would get a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and the triumphant institute would be awarded with 'Fujio Cup'.

Apart from quiz competition, NCRM is organising a cartoon contest on the occasion. The last date for entries is 31 August.
