Symposium on Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine by NCRM.

Oct 2007, Chennai; Nichi-In Centre for Regenerative Medicine (NCRM), Chennai, an Indo Japan joint venture institute accomplishing training, research and clinical application-protocol development in cell therapeutics with emphasis on stem cells is organizing the Second Annual Symposium on Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine on Saturday the 27th October 2007 at Chennai (Hotel Savera; 15:45 ~ 17:15 Hrs). Basic research, translational work and clinical studies using stem cells by NCRM-collaborative centres will be presented by experts of institutes from all over India.

The symposium will be moderated by Dr. Sunita Saxena, (Director, Institute of Pathology -Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi.) Dr. Sujatha Mohanty, ( Associate professor, Stem Cell facility, AIIMS, New Delhi)

Dr. R.Ravi Kumar, Lifeline Hospital, Chennai. (Bone marrow stem cells in Spinalcord injury), 5. Dr. J.S.Rajkumar, Lifeline Hospital, Chennai (Stem cells for Liver Cirrhosis ? Our experience), 6. Dr.Madhu Sankar, Frontier Lifeline Hospital, Chennai (Bone Marrow stem cells for cardiac diseases), 7. Dr. S.R. Subrammaniyan, Vijaya Hospitals, Chennai, (Stem cells for ischemic ulcers in diabetic patients; Our experience)

This symposium is dedicated to the memory of Dr.G.Sitalakshmi, former Chief of Cornea services, Sankara Nethralaya and Principal Investigator of NCRM-Sankara Nethralaya project on corneal limbal stem cells.

SALIENT FEATURES OF THE SYMPOSIUM:

  1. This is the 2nd time such symposium is conducted.
  2. The FIRST-IN-INDIA, Stem cell application for Liver cirrhosis to be presented.
