TANUVAS TO START STEM CELL TREATMENT FOR ANIMALS JOINTLY WITH NCRM -
MoU SIGNED FOR FIRST SUCH INITIATIVE IN INDIA

TANUVAS inks pact with NCRM Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) and Nichi-In Centre for Regenerative Medicine (NCRM) at the Madras Veterinary College on Monday. P. Thangaraju, Vice-Chancellor, TANUVAS, said the centre is an Indo-Japan joint-venture institute, created for taking up stem cell research. Both the institutions would jointly work towards establishing possible therapeutic modalities, especially for the crippling surgical conditions.

Initially diseases such as spinal cord injury and tendon injuries would be given stem cell treatment, Dr. Thangaraju said.
